The Talk Of The Town formed in 1968 and were very active on the vibrant Halifax/Dartmouth lounge circuit regularly playing the Fleet Club, Captain's Cabin, Monteray Lounge, K-Mart Plaza Lounge, Sea King Club, etc. Strong vocals and three-part harmony allowed them to cover songs by The Beatles, Paul Revere And The Raiders, Tom Jones, Ray Charles, The Foundations and many more. Band co-founder Glen Parker left for Calgary in 1969 and the Talk of the Town with Mike Melvin continued successfully into the mid to late 1970s. |
