Early line-up of the band had two drummers which was unique for the area (Halifax-Dartmouth). They covered such bands as J. Geils Band and The Rolling Stones. They would get members in the audience up on stage to play one of the drum sets and percussion for a song near the end of the night. A later line-up (with just Gary Hall on drums) started their third set of the night with "Trash", looking like a vampire, rise up out of a coffin while the band played "Sympathy For The Devil" and the rest of the band was dressed as Druids. Fire And Ice were together from the early 1970's until the early 80's. |
There was a front page article in the Daily News in the 80's about the Rock Church denouncing Fire & Ice as Satanic and they were banned from many high schools. |
Gary "Trash" McLaren passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the age of 63 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Gary Hall passed from pancreatic cancer in Dec. 2018. |
