Blue Thunder was made up of members of the Halifax Regional Police, formed in 1991 by drummer Darryl Lysens (Four To Go) who was a Crime Prevention Member. He was joined by guitarist Cst. Cedric Upshaw (Dogrib, Snakeye), keyboardist Cst. Steve Saunders (Virginia Foxe), guitarist Ron Morgan (The Shamrocks, Idle Tyme) dog master from Dartmouth Police, civilian Sandy Bryson on bass who was replaced by Ernie Reti (Lectric Music Revolution), a member working in the police garage. |
The band really took off for the first five years playing in middle schools, public concerts, a giant G7 (now G20) concert, the Nova Scotia Tattoo and travelling to the Republic Of Slovakia to introduce western policing to police and citizens. |
In 1993 they recorded an album at Salter Street Digital Studio in Halifax. |
